Being a master of disaster means knowing how to recognize and prepare for different types of emergencies that can affect your community and your family. Campers will learn from experts in the field about different emergencies and ways they can be prepared. They will explore storm-spotting, learn how to be safe during tornadoes, summer and winter storms, the basics of wilderness first aid as well as how Ontario municipalities respond to emergencies. They will learn how to build an emergency preparedness kit using simple household items while developing leadership skills. On the last day, campers will apply the knowledge and skills learned and participate in a team building race to escape an imaginary zombie apocalypse.
